We have an exciting vacancy for a full-time Product Development Manager to join our HQ team, located in Milton Keynes, UK.

We are searching for a passionate and highly driven team player who is a strategic thinker, highly organised and able to hit required deadlines, while having a passion for our customers, brands and products, embodying an entrepreneurial spirit.

You will become a key part of our tedretail department, playing a critical role in developing and driving long term growth with current clients but also seeking further opportunities to grow our business.

role responsibilities

As tedretail’s new Product Development Manager, you will research and design new product concepts from initial ideas to reskinned products, featuring branded artwork for presenting to clients.

You will also provide design oversight throughout all stages of development and production, while supporting day-to-day product development activities – design, costs, concepts, sampling, packaging, engineering, testing, budgeting and timelines.

You will work closely with our factories across the world to help produce each concept from idea to completion; as well as researching and developing new product ideas with a suitable factory to include within product proposals to client.

This role will see you visit trade shows across the world, including in Hong Kong and China, to ensure we stay at the forefront of the industry.

qualifications, skills and experience

You must be methodical, organised and accurate with an excellent attention to detail, alongside stand-out negotiation skills.

Your written and oral English must be excellent, with a strong ability to present ideas and proposals to clients. You must also be able to develop and maintain successful working relationships, with high levels of customer service.

Knowledge and experience of product testing and relevant standard for the UK is essential, as is a proven track record in toys/gifts/promotional products development.

You must have experience dealing with Far East suppliers, and the ability to speak Mandarin is a huge plus.

You will possess a creative outlook on merchandise solutions, and be able to work on your own initiative. You will also be comfortable under pressure, with tight deadlines and demanding targets.
