Southend Cliffs Pavilion

During a 10-day closure period of Southend’s famous Cliffs Pavilion, tedav helped to install a complete replacement of its ageing sound system.

We designed, supplied and installed:

  • new loudspeakers
  • digital sound processing
  • an audio mixer
  • outboard effects and equalisation equipment
  • a playback system
  • a bantam patchbay
  • all associated interconnecting cables.

The tedav team demonstrated their flexibility by juggling the laying of miles of loudspeaker cabling before the closure, as and when they could. Seven engineers then installed the final equipment before re-opening. Although they configured the sound system’s main DSP (Digital Signal Processor) to suit the 1960’s building, it can be adjusted wirelessly from anywhere in the auditorium via a laptop computer. Genius.
